What HAHA is

You can use HAHA without an account. You pick a first name for the booth, take four frames with your camera, style a strip, then download or share it. In long-distance mode, two phones can optionally send live camera video to each other.

Photos and camera

• Camera access happens in your browser, and only after you allow it. We cannot turn the camera on without that.
• Still photos from the booth are uploaded to private storage so we can build your strip. They are not a public gallery. Other people cannot open them with a guessable link.
• Live partner video (if you both opt in) travels peer to peer between your devices. We do not record or store that live stream.
• If you download or share a strip, that copy lives on your device or the app you share to. We do not control those copies.

Names and booth data

We store the display name you type, a booth code, whether you are together or long distance, and small booth state (ready, frame number, peek choice). That exists so the two of you can stay in the same booth. It is not a profile, and we do not ask for email, phone, or a password.

How long we keep it

Booths are set to expire after 24 hours. After that, the room, photos, and strip are meant to be deleted. Do not treat HAHA as a photo album. Save the strip if you want to keep it.

On your device

Your browser may keep a booth token so you can return to the same session, a sound on/off preference, and analytics identifiers. Clearing site data for hahabooth.in removes that local copy.

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand whether the booth works: pages viewed, booths created, frames taken, strips downloaded or shared, and similar product events. We may attach a booth participant id and the display name you chose. We do not use this to sell ads. PostHog may set cookies or similar storage to tell visits apart.

Who else sees data

Hosting, database, file storage, and analytics run on vendors we use to operate the site (including our cloud host, Supabase, and PostHog). They process data for us, not as their own product about you. We do not sell photos or personal data.

We may share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone from serious harm.

Children

HAHA is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child gave us photos or a name, contact us and we will delete what we can still reach.

Your choices

• Deny camera permission. You will not be able to take frames.
• Skip partner video. Long-distance photos still work.
• Leave the booth and clear this site's data in your browser.
• Ask us to delete a booth you created, if it has not already expired. Include the booth code if you still have it.
